Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
Construction of the cathedral began in 1869 and was completed in 1886, making it one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States. The architectural style is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic Revival elements, characterized by its twin towers, rose window, and striking facade. The cathedral's exterior is constructed from local pink sandstone, which gives it a unique and warm appearance that harmonizes with the adobe buildings characteristic of Santa Fe.
The interior of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi is equally impressive.
